The Birth of Nik

I forgot to properly introduce you to this little guy anyway here's a little story about him:

He was the first earth-orbiting pioneer satellite. As time passed, his popularity has gone on the wayside and newer and fancier satellites stole the limelight. Feeling useless and depressed, he exiled himself into the vastness of the universe until he was reduced to a dead pile of orbiting junk.

One day a German scientist astronaut named Dr. Franken Von Stein came into contact with this floating inanimate object. Seeing the potential of this obsolete technology, he had an urge to restore it back to it's former glory. It took 242,485 hours of mathematical equation solving, 324,845 packs of cigarette, and a late night movie starring Christian Slater. It had sparked an idea that was so obvious it was staring him in the face this whole time. He went with this off the wall idea and proceeded with the surgery involving a baboon's heart. After a tedious process of completing the procedure and a caffeine-fueled, nail-biting anticipation... it was a success!

Since the restoration of this satellite took most of the scientist's life and feeling that he had accomplished his life's work, he passed away leaving his legacy to this blue metal machine.  This satellite has since explored various faraway galaxies and went to great lengths to find a place he could call home. Until he stumbled upon this blog and ask me if he could hang here for a while and i said "it's cool, you can hang here for as long as you like." And he never left.

So let me introduce you to my buddy and official blog mascot, NIK the sputnik sweetheart.
